The Brooke Point Black-Hawks opened their regular season with a non-district win against the Forest Park Bruins 3-2 on March 17th.
Black-Hawks starting pitcher Evan Houde (senior) pitched 5 innings for the win. Houde limited the Bruins to 4 hits and recorded 3 strike-outs, 1 walk, and 1 earned-run. Chris Denno (junior) recorded a save taking the mound in the 6th inning and giving up only one unearned run in finishing off the Bruins.
In the bottom of the 3rd inning Blackhawks outfielder Gary Pisall (senior) was hit by a pitch and took second on a steal. Outfielder Ryan Carder (senior) followed with a sacrifice bunt moving Pisall to third. Outfielder Thomas Washington (junior) then connected on the first pitch for a 2 run homer over the left field fence to put the Blackhawks in front 2-0.
Blackhawks first baseman David Dilegge (junior) went 3 for 3 for the night with 2 singles and a double. In the bottom of the sixth inning Dilegge stole home for the deciding run. Pisall also contributed a single to round out the Black-Hawks offense.
