In Commonwealth District play last night, the Stafford Indians came from behind to defeat the Black-Hawks 6-5 in extra innings. Brooke Point starter Andrew Tyree pitched a strong 6 innings, taking a 4-1 lead into the 7th before the turning the ball over to reliever Chris Denno.
The Indians tied the game in the bottom the 7th, putting the game into extra innings. Brooke Point regained the lead in the top of the 8th but Stafford stepped up in the bottom the frame and won the game on a 2 out, 2 run single by Cody Beacorn. Trey Embrey picked up the win in relief for the Indians.
The Black-Hawks travel to Charlottesville to play the Albemarle Patriots in a make-up on Monday. On Tuesday they travel to Colonial Forge to take on the Eagles and on Friday to Riverbend to take on the Bears.
