The Black-Hawks won their third straight Commonwealth District game by defeating the Panthers 5-3 last night at Massaponax. Brooke Point displayed solid pitching and defense while recording 9 hits. Massaponax recorded 5 hits for the night.
Starting pitcher Andrew Tyree threw 6 strong innings for the win while recording 5 strikeouts. Tyree also hit 2 RBI doubles. Chris Denno came on in the 7th inning to close for the Black-Hawks.
Second baseman Connor O'Hara and shortstop Denno hit back-to-back solo home runs over the left field fence in the second inning. Third baseman J.J. McDaniel (triple), centerfielder Evan Houde (double), and first baseman and shortstop David Dilegge (double) all had extra base hits for the Black-Hawks. Dilegge went 2-for-4 for the night with a RBI.
Catcher Cameron Tubbs went 2-for-3 with a double for the Panthers.
The Black-Hawks' next district game is Tuesday night at North Stafford.
